The vineyards, 125-200 years of age, are located at an altitude of 550 meters in the area of Paternopoli and Montefalcione where the soil is of volcanic origin. They are north exposed and espalier-trained.
Only the best grapes are hand picked and destemmed. After a maceration of 40 days they ferment in stainless steel tanks with frequent pumping over.
The wine ages for 6 years in 225 ltr oak and acacia barriques.
